Since 1989, the Atelier Calder has operated as a residency where artists are invited to live and work for periods of three months. Located in Saché in Indre-et-Loire, France, this former home and studio of the American artist Alexander Calder aims to provide the technical and financial support necessary to enable artists to realize artistic projects, and develop their practice.
The works created during the residency are presented to the public at the end of each residency during an Open Doors event. The residency can also be an opportunity for the artist to produce works that will then be exhibited in an institution in collaboration with the Atelier Calder.
