Founded in 2018, Meredith Rosen Gallery has earned a reputation as one of the most boundary-pushing galleries on New York’s Upper East Side, introducing international emerging artists and providing a new context for established artists. The gallery’s location – as a contemporary intervention in a historic brownstone in close proximity to the Metropolitan Museum – places its artists in a dynamic conversation around connoisseurship and critical significance. Meredith Rosen has launched the careers of artists such as Cy Gavin, Jordan Casteel, Susan Chen, Gowoon Lee, Mosie Romney, Rindon Johnson and Theo Triantafyllidis; provided a US platform for Guillaume Bijl, Stefan Tcherepnin, Chino Amobi, Oliver Payne and Tina Braegger; and continues to stage ambitious performance work by Jennifer Rubell. Many gallery artists draw significantly from popular culture and experimental mediums, as well as testing the limits of traditional art-making practice. In response to gallery artists’ wide-ranging work, in Fall 2022 the gallery expanded to an additional location in a second historic brownstone on the Upper East Side.
