PETER HARRINGTON

An aesthetic influence for me has been with the Imagist School of Chicago, although my work has taken its own path into uncharted territory.
My oil paintings are a kind of Kabuki of forms, often have a totemic, iconic expression.
An unlikely, but inevitable intersection of elements from primitive nature and the human presence, towards a philosophical whole, with a spooky humor, at times.

"There’s no limit on pure creativity here. Peter Harrington’s 'Mahayana Recreational and Contemplative Vehicle' (see: the cover of this paper) comes from a fun place that I wish existed where spirituality has gone mobile..." Anthony Mariani, Fort Worth Weekly.
