CARLO PIZZICHINI
Pizzichini, a Sienese artist, creates abstract mural sized paintings exhibited in both public and private spaces. He fills his large-scale compositions with a variety of colorful shapes and markings that appear impulsive yet are in fact quite considered. The steady repetition of these designs over the entire surface of a canvas adds a level of solidity to the artist’s otherwise frenzied gestures. Pizzichini’s free flowing and abstract script is often situated atop a vibrant monochrome background, creating a provocative juxtaposition of serenity and chaos. He includes the artists Cy Twombly and Ellsworth Kelley among his many artistic influences.
